ELMS2 becomes first CECOPS approved solution for community equipment services

ELMS2 has achieved an industry first, becoming the first community equipment services system to achieve CECOPS Approved Software status. The solution also holds the CECOPS Approved Software status for wheelchair services.

ELMS2, the equipment loan management system developed by clinical software provider Ethitec, has achieved an industry first, becoming the first community equipment services system to achieve CECOPS Approved Software status. The solution also holds the CECOPS Approved Software status for wheelchair services.

CECOPS, which manages and regulates the Code of Practice for assistive technology services, developed the Approved Software status to assist commissioners and equipment providers in procuring software systems that support best practice standards. ELMS2 was awarded the prestigious status after an evaluation of how the solution supports CECOPS standards and outcomes.

Brian Donnelly, Chief Executive at CECOPS, commented: “We were delighted when Ethitec approached us to have their ELMS2 product evaluated under our new CECOPS Approved Software scheme. It is always a good sign when an organisation voluntarily steps up to have their product or service independently assessed as it signals that the organisation takes quality seriously and is committed to meeting the highest standard.

“We were impressed with the quality of the information submitted by Ethitec about their ELMS2 system for community equipment and wheelchair services. It is a comprehensive IT management system with extensive capability. We’d like to congratulate the Ethitec team for achieving our Approved Software status.”

Currently in use across 54 organisations, Ethitec’s ELMS2 solution has a proven track record of supporting the efficient management of Community Equipment Services and other areas of NHS and Social Care supplies provision.

Simon Taylor, Managing Director at Ethitec, commented: “We’re thrilled that ELMS2 has achieved CECOPS Approved Software status. The CECOPS Code of Practice is now widely adopted as a quality standard across community equipment services, and the Approved Software status reaffirms ELMS2’s position as a leading system to support best practice amongst community equipment and wheelchair services.”

CECOPS is the independent standards body in the UK for community equipment, wheelchair and seating services. CECOPS is officially recognised by regulators and professional organisations including the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Association of Directors of Adults Social Services (ADASS).
