With the news that the Shetland Islands Council has purchased ELMS2 to run their Community Equipment Service, Ethitec can now confirm that the system cannot get any further in Great Britain – it is at the top! The Shetland Islands lie over 600 miles north of London and over 300 miles north of Edinburgh. More than a hundred islands make up the archipelago, with just 15 of them being inhabited with a total of 23,000 people (and 200,000 puffins). For Ethitec, it reinforces ELMS2’s strength in Scotland, with the Council being the 10th service to purchase the system north of the border.

Ethitec's ELMS2 is a comprehensive software solution that supports the efficient management of Community Equipment Services. The Council will be making use of the system’s strong and proven support for web based ordering and barcoding technology.  The award of the contract to Ethitec followed a comprehensive procurement process in which Ethitec and ELMS2 went head-to-head with systems from other suppliers. As ever, Ethitec were evaluated on various technical and functional competencies with a strong emphasis placed on feedback from existing customers.
