More success in Scotland for ELMS2
05/12/2008
Ethitec’s position in Scotland as the leading provider of IT Solutions to Community Equipment Services has been further strengthened with the news that the Borders Ability Equipment Service (BAES) has purchased the ELMS2 system. The award of the contract to Ethitec followed a formal procurement process in which ELMS2 and systems from other potential suppliers were measured against various technical and functional criteria. In addition, the service undertook an extensive series of site visits to other authorities in Scotland to discuss their experiences of using their respective IT systems and the related quality of ongoing support from their suppliers.
From its store in Galashiels, BAES provide information on available equipment to promote an individual's ability, assessment of service users, and equipment purchase, delivery, collection and recycling services. BAES is jointly delivered by Scottish Borders Council and NHS Borders.
Mike Weatherall, ELMS2 product manager, said: “Ever since the first Scottish deployment of ELMS2 back in 2002, Ethitec have been consistently delivering quality solutions to Scottish Equipment Services, and expanding our user base, mainly through recommendation from our existing customers. Indeed, following recent successes, the Scottish ELMS2 User Group is now meeting regularly, to serve the specific needs of all nine of our customers north of the border”.
